Narrow, General, and Superintelligence: What AI Can (and Can't) Become
Description
We tend to think of technology as a tool we use. But what if it's using us? As AI does more of what we once thought only humans could do, Christians face an old question with new urgency: What does it mean to be human?
Dr. Thacker sits with host Brittney Brown and explains why no technology is neutral, why AI is tempting culture to treat technology as a "quasi savior," and why the image of God is the doctrine Christians most need right now. He also shares how everyday conversations about AI can open the door to the gospel.
They also explore:
• Is technology neutral, or is it shaping how we see God, ourselves, and the world?
• Why is it so hard to put down our phones?
• What does it mean to be human when machines can do human-like tasks?
• Is AI becoming a new golden calf or a new savior?
• What's the difference between narrow AI, general intelligence, and superintelligence?
• How can Christians be people of truth in an age of deepfakes and misinformation?
• What do AI companions reveal about what people are really searching for?
• How can conversations about AI become opportunities to share the hope of Christ?
