Do We REALLY Know What Jesus Said?

Description

Can we really trust the words of Jesus recorded in the Gospels?

Alex O’Connor doesn't think so.

After all, if you can’t remember what Alex said on the podcast 20 seconds ago, how are we supposed to believe the Gospel writers remembered what Jesus said decades later?

In this video, Mr. B responds by showing why this comparison is apples and oranges. The disciples lived in an oral culture skilled at memorization, Jesus deliberately taught in memorable ways, and His followers were deeply motivated to preserve His words. Add to that the role of controlled oral tradition, the possibility of early written notes, and Jesus’ promise of the Spirit’s help, and the case for reliable Gospels gets much stronger.

So, are Jesus’ words trustworthy today, even in our English translations? Let’s take a closer look.
