That probably doesn't surprise you, but what may surprise you is that 9 months ago, he gave a passionate plea for the opposite to occur - for the abuser to be exposed. Even more, for the past decade he's been giving the same message - if you are taken advantage of by a da'ee, you need to go public to hold him accountable. No one is above rebuke, he said... except apparently Muhammad Hijab.
