What is truth, anyway? Pontius Pilate’s famous question still echoes through the ages. Jesus’ response, however, was nothing short of revolutionary: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). History confirms that Jesus Christ was a real person who walked this earth. The four gospels, which contain firsthand accounts of His life and ministry, have withstood the test of time and scrutiny. So, who is this Jesus Christ, anyway? As the most pivotal figure in human history, it’s essential that we grasp His true identity. According to the Bible, Jesus is none other than God the Son, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, who has coexisted eternally with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Two thousand years ago, He took on human form as the God-man, possessing both human and divine natures. His sinless life and sacrificial death on the cross made Him the perfect atonement for humanity’s sins. But that was only the beginning. Three days later, He rose from the dead, vindicating His claim to be the sole path to the one true God. Therefore, it’s imperative that we delve deeper into the mystery of Jesus’ identity, for it holds the key to understanding the very fabric of our existence.
