Was Jesus God?

Description
Swinburne crafts a compelling case for the probability of core Christian doctrines, positing that the nature of God and His actions in the world are indeed true. With omnipotence and perfect goodness as His defining characteristics, God must necessarily exist as a Trinity, incarnate as human to share in our suffering, and establish a church to proclaim His message to all humanity. Furthermore, it is likely that God would offer His human life as atonement for humanity's wrongdoing, impart moral guidance, and reveal His plans for the afterlife. Among religious founders, Jesus uniquely embodies the human experience God would need to undergo. However, to establish Jesus' divinity, God's "signature" was required – an act only He could perform: resurrecting Jesus from the dead. And, as historical records attest, Jesus did rise from the dead. Thus, Swinburne concludes that the central Christian doctrines are quite probably true.
