Is the Bible a book of science? Many Americans believe science and religion are at odds. According to theologian and scientist Denis O. Lamoureux, this conflict stems from a flawed assumption about biblical interpretation. Christians often expect Scripture to align with science, an approach known as "scientific concordism." However, Lamoureux argues that the Bible contains an ancient science, which the Holy Spirit used to convey spiritual truths through the writers' understanding of the world at that time. By moving beyond concordism, we can foster a peaceful and God-honoring relationship between modern science and Christian faith.
