Dinosaur Blood and the Age of the Earth
4.40 out of 5 stars
Description
A groundbreaking discovery in 2004 by paleontologist Mary Schweitzer shook the foundations of paleontology. She found well-preserved soft tissue, including what looked like fresh blood vessels, in a 68-million-year-old fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex femur. This went against the conventional scientific understanding that soft tissue cannot survive for more than a few thousand years. The discovery sparked excitement among some Christians who believed in a young earth, as they saw it as evidence that scientists had incorrectly dated the dinosaurs. However, biochemist Fazale Rana argues that the presence of soft tissue remnants does not support a young earth theory. Instead, he presents a scientific case for the recovery of these remnants from ancient sites, strengthening the case for an old earth and the reliability of Scripture.
